Hell’s Paradise (Jigokuraku) Hikkake Figures (Nurugai, Tenza, Shion) Review

Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! This is my figure collecting blogging space. I hope that you will find this website super fun and useful. I do reviews on new anime figures coming out almost every day, but I also share photos of my very own collection. Although my blog is titled “Our Nendoroid Family” I branch out and cover a wide variety of anime merchandise news. If you have any suggestions like figures you’d like me to cover, or a series you want more content for, please let me know! I wish to host a fun blog for everyone! If you’re interested in starting the hobby, this is a great place to learn about many models as well.

Recently, I’ve been super into an anime called Jigokuraku or Hell’s Paradise. The anime is currently airing; and I own several volumes of the manga. If you’ve read my blog before, you might know that the Hikkake line of figures is one of my favorites! Hikkake figures are made by Furyu. They feature many popular characters in a laying down position. They each come with their own themed blocks that they can rest atop of. The fun thing about them is that you can put them in plenty of places! Even on your hand or shoulder. Hikkake models are done in a chibi style and are very cute. They can be obtained at bookstores, comic stores, and anime stores. If you are interested in buying these, I recommend you shop around and look for the best price. Hikkake are sold at various prices so don’t pay more than 28$ for one.

Hikkake usually come in sets. This is the second set. It includes Shion, Tenza, and Nurugai. They will release in November 2023.

Yuji Kaku Sensei’s “Hell’s Paradise” or “Jigokuraku” is a manga series and as of April 2023, an anime as well. It is known as one of the so called “Dark Trio” along with Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. The story follows a ninja by the name of Gabimaru. Once known infamously as “Gabimaru the Hollow”. He is accused of committing crimes and sent to be executed. However, the desire to reunite with his wife again drives him to stay alive and fight through what would normally kill a person. Then he meets the executioner, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, a woman who feels regret and his haunted by those she’s slain. In order for him to be pardoned, she allows Gabimaru to depart on a trip to a mysterious island. If he can find the elixir of life that is rumored to be there, he will be set free. But is this island actually paradise or hell?

Nurugai’s new Hikkake figure. Aww Nurugai is cute! I love the cheerful face they chose for her. You can really see how raggedy her hair is. With the Hell’s Paradise Hikkake, they use Jigokuraku spelled in kanji to decorate their blocks instead of character icons.

Nurugai’s color scheme is very likable. I think the golden colored block goes perfect with her!

They did a wonderful job on her hair. You’l notice she keeps one foot up and one foot down.

I love how the Hikkake figures seem to be barely hanging on. That doesn’t sound appealing, but it’s cute!

Zenza’s new Hikkake figure. Zenza has a happy vibe to him doesn’t he? He seems like a reliable guy, and maybe that’s why him and Nurugai get along so well.

The bright red is a bold choice, but it does work well with this character. I also enjoy how they put him doing a thumbs up.

The back of his headband looks cool.

I’ll be honest, I cried a little while reading Zenza’s last scene…-_<

Shion’s new Hikkake figure. Shion may seem a little boring at first look, but he’s an interesting character too. I’m not exactly sure, but it looks like his eyes have been sliced while fighting.

His outfit is really cool! 🎶

As far as colors go, Shion’s pretty dull. I wonder if the block would look better as a brighter color? But maybe his signature light grey is best.

His hair is really spiked isn’t it?

My conclusion to this review is that I think the new Hell’s Paradise Hikkake figures are definitely worth getting! The design on them looks great, and I enjoy the style of their blocks as well. The advantage to collecting Hikkake figures is that they are much more affordable than some others. And they’ve been easily available in the United States! This set will release in November 2023, but there are Demon Slayer, Hunter X Hunter, and Jujutsu Kaisen Hikkake figures that you can collect until then. If you are interested in the Hell’s Paradise figures, you can preorder them online. My recommendation is the Crunchyroll store, or any reliable anime online shop you trust. These will probably be available in bookstores when they come out. >~< I will be sure to get some.

I had a very good time with this post! The first set of Jigokuraku Hikkake figures will release in October 2023, a little earlier than these three.
