Nendoroid Yamada Asaemon Sagiri Review

Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! I know it’s been a while since I posted. I’m really sorry about that. I’ve been ill so I hope you can all forgive me for taking a break. I want to keep doing a blog post everyday, if possible! Thank you all for checking out this blog today! I write about all sorts of anime merchandise and take photos of my own collection too!

If you’ve read my blog before, you might know that when the Good Smile company posted the new Hell’s Paradise nendos on their twitter a few months ago, I also shared the photos in my own article. (Link at the bottom of this page.) Recently, the Jigokuraku nendoroids have been put up for sale! They will release in the fourth quarter of 2023; could be in time for Christmas! Both Sagiri and Gabimaru are up for preorder on the Good Smile store, Good Smile Us store, AmiAmi and plenty of other sites. I recommend getting them fro the GSC US site if you’re living in the United States.

Going back to the previous post I mentioned earlier, I enjoy guessing the nendo’s other faceplates. When Good Smile shares the early versions of their models, we only get to see one expression for them. They’re also not painted yet. When I guessed what Sagiri’s other faces would be, here’s what I wrote:

“I’m assuming her other two faces will be; a fighting face for mid action, and her exhausted expression. That’s just my guess though.” (Her first face was her serious one.)

And guess what? I got it completely right!! ✨🎶 Either I know a lot about nendos, or I’m just that lucky! I thought it was crazy when I saw her finished model for the first time and she was exactly how I’d imagined!

Today we will be taking a look at nendoroid Yamada Asaemon Sagiri and reviewing her!

Yamada Asaemon Sagiri’s new nendoroid looks amazing! This was the same pose we’d seen before, but this time she’s fully painted. Her hair color always looks really pretty with these anime figures. The gold on her sword and bead work well to highlight her clothes.

Her fighting stance reminds me a lot of the anime. Similar to many of the KNY nendoroids, she comes with a sword holster that snaps to her hip. When I first opened my Demon Slayer nendoroids, I was confused as to how to get it right. I’ll often forget to snap the sheath in when I first open a nendo, and then end up with a bunch of bad pictures. They’ll usually be a gap if you don’t put the sheath in, so please do so before you take any pictures. Her sword should also be able to fit into the sheath for when she’s not using it.

Her exhausted face is so cute…>~< I can’t believe I guessed this one right! This faceplate is actually extremely useful. You could use it for when she’s tired of fussing with Gabimaru. (Like about his hands being tide.) You could also use it for if your Sagiri is sleepy. It would work great with a nendo pouch! When she’s eating food, it makes her seem like she’s hungry. Lastly, It also makes an excellent expression for when she’s taking a bath.

This combat pose is wicked isn’t it? She’s definitely an executioner! It looks like Sagiri includes parts for pulling her sword from her sheath. She comes with a second leg part that works better for fight scenes. This part will make her a little shorter too.

Hell’s Paradise nendoroids! I can’t wait! You can combo her with Gabimaru the hollow, but we’ll take about him in our next review.

Before we continue, I should mention that Yamada Asaemon Sagiri has two versions. The standard version and the deluxe or “DX” version. Her DX version includes the extra parts for when she’s taking a bath. Her standard version is about 43$, while her DX version is about 47$. Honestly, you’ve got no reason to buy the standard version. It’s only a 4$ difference, and you get 2 extra parts. You’l often end up paying 8$ or more for single parts, so it’s a great deal to get the DX version!

Her relaxed face works amazing for this like I mentioned before. Sagiri seems to be enjoying a hot bath! I love how the bath water is green and not blue.

Her DX version includes a special hairpiece with her hair up! This is definitely worth it.

Yuji Kaku Sensei’s “Hell’s Paradise” or “Jigokuraku” is a manga series and as of April 2023, an anime as well. It is known as one of the so called “Dark Trio” along with Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. The story follows a ninja by the name of Gabimaru. Once known infamously as “Gabimaru the Hollow”. He is accused of committing crimes and sent to be executed. However, the desire to reunite with his wife again drives him to stay alive and fight through what would normally kill a person. Then he meets the executioner, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, a woman who feels regret and his haunted by those she’s slain. In order for him to be pardoned, she allows Gabimaru to depart on a trip to a mysterious island. If he can find the elixir of life that is rumored to be there, he will be set free. But is this island actually paradise or hell?

In conclusion, I think that nendoroid Yamada Asaemon Sagiri is definitely worth getting! I want her for sure….>-<
