Nendoroid Gabimaru The Hollow Review
Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! I love Hell’s Paradise, so I’m overjoyed to talk about the new merchandise for it! Thank you all for checking out this blog today! I write about all sorts of anime merchandise and take photos of my own collection too!
If you’ve read my blog before, you might know that when the Good Smile company posted the new Hell’s Paradise nendos on their twitter a few months ago, I also shared the photos in my own article. (Link at the bottom of this page.) Recently, the Jigokuraku nendoroids have been put up for sale! They will release in the fourth quarter of 2023; could be in time for Christmas! Both Sagiri and Gabimaru are up for preorder on the Good Smile store, Good Smile Us store, AmiAmi and plenty of other sites. I recommend getting them fro the GSC US site if you’re living in the United States.
Going back to the previous post I mentioned earlier, I enjoy guessing the nendo’s other faceplates. When Good Smile shares the early versions of their models, we only get to see one expression for them. They’re also not painted yet. When I guessed what Gabimaru’s other faces would be, here’s what I wrote:
“The first face we get to see is his serious expression. He also looks a little gloomy. I’m sure this can be used for fighting as well. We only get to see one of his expressions but I’m guessing the other two will be; one for fighting and another with a smile or a comical face. It could also be his shocked face from the anime too. I can’t wait to see Gabimaru in action!”
unlike with Sagiri, I wasn’t spot on with my guess. Since I didn’t specify what the third face would be like.
Today we will be taking a look at nendoroid Gabimaru the Hollow and reviewing him!
Gabimaru’s new nendoroid model is amazing! It’s nice to get to see him in color. Like with previous Gabimaru figures, his ninja garb is a dark green. His yellow eyes goes good with it. His Sandhills are white, but I joy the light grey details on them. This is his serious faceplate that we had seen before.
The Good Smile company is cheekily calling this his ‘dumbfounded’ face which is cute. >~< I like how his arm also gos just behind his ear like he’s puzzled.
Gabimaru’s new nendo is well armed for combat! He includes the sword from his fight with Sagiri. Unlike with Sagiri, he does not have a sword holster slot on his hip; highlighting the fact that he’s a ninja who just picked up a weapon for battle.
He’ll also come with a mask piece! I’d imagine this will work similarly to the cleaning Levi mask I have. It will most likely snap in over his neck piece before you put his head on. Honestly, this nendoroid looks amazing so far!
Whoa, his fire-breathing effect is so cool isn’t it? They really went all out with the details in that fireball. I’m impressed. The color of his fire tends to be almost a pink reddish color in the anime. His third face is his fire-breathing faceplate.
In addition to his fireball, Gabimaru also comes with smaller flames to go on his hands. I’d imagine they’ll work similarly to Yuji’s divergent fists. Which slide over the hand parts pretty easily. this nendoroid is so cool…
Yuji Kaku Sensei’s “Hell’s Paradise” or “Jigokuraku” is a manga series and as of April 2023, an anime as well. It is known as one of the so called “Dark Trio” along with Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. The story follows a ninja by the name of Gabimaru. Once known infamously as “Gabimaru the Hollow”. He is accused of committing crimes and sent to be executed. However, the desire to reunite with his wife again drives him to stay alive and fight through what would normally kill a person. Then he meets the executioner, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, a woman who feels regret and his haunted by those she’s slain. In order for him to be pardoned, she allows Gabimaru to depart on a trip to a mysterious island. If he can find the elixir of life that is rumored to be there, he will be set free. But is this island actually paradise or hell?
It amazed me how many combat pieces Gabimaru came with! I’m always wishing that nendoroids would come with more, so I’m happy with all the effect pieces. I think this nendoroid will be interesting for certain! >~<
