Pop Up Parade Ruby Hoshino Review

Pop Up Parades are a simple, yet exciting line of figures by the Good Smile company. They’re designed to be easily affordable, and they don’t contain any moving or interchangeable parts. Pop Up Parades look great in displays and on desks. And luckily for fans of Oshi No Ko, Ruby and Aqua are joining the Pop Up Parade series! In this post, I’ll be reviewing Ruby Hoshino’s new Pop Up Parade figure. Be sure to share your own thoughts in the comments section!
Oshi No Ko is a manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It’s been airing as a TV anime series since spring 2023. The anime can only be watched on HIDIVE however. The story starts with a doctor and his patient who are reincarnated as an idol’s twins. Their mother Ai, hides the fact that she has kids as she continues her work as a star. But in an unexpected series of events, she ends up being murdered. Desperate to live up to their mother’s dreams, Aqua and Ruby take on the industry and attempt avenge their mother. Oshi No Ko seems cute at first, but it focuses on the corruption of the popular industry and expresses rather dark themes.
Ruby is the female protagonist and Aqua‘s sister. She strives to bring back the B Komachi idol group.
Ruby is cute as a Pop Up Parade figure. as usual, I love the way they did her eyes!
I think this is a good pose for Ruby. She’s featured in her uniform.
Ruby Hoshino’s figure goes good on desks.
The highlights and shades seem really good, especially for a Pop Up Parade.
Her hairstyle looks cute from the back.
Ruby’s Pop Up Parade is so bright and cheery! She seems to be filled with confidence.
Of course, Ruby is compatible with her brother, Aqua Hoshino’s Pop Up Parade as well!
I’m glad the Good Smile company chose to use their uniforms for all three of them, because they match each other. It would be awesome to have the collection of three.
Pop Up Parade Ruby Hoshino is set to release in the fourth quarter of 2024. You can purchase her from the Good Smile Online shop, or the Good Smile US store. The Crunchyroll store is also a great place to get these kinds of figures.
In conclusion to this review, I think that Ruby’s Pop Up Parade was designed well. I like the pose they chose for her, and she gives off very happy, confident vibes. Overall her new figure is really solid. I do think Pop Up Parades in general are pretty basic. There’s definitely more exciting figures out there, especially in Ruby’s case. But for the price range, this figure is certainly worth it!
