Pop Up Parade Aqua Hoshino Review

Pop Up Parades are a simple, yet exciting line of figures by the Good Smile company. They’re designed to be easily affordable, and they don’t contain any moving or interchangeable parts. Pop Up Parades look great in displays and on desks. And luckily for fans of Oshi No Ko, Ruby and Aqua are joining the Pop Up Parade series! In this post, I’ll be reviewing Aqua Hoshino’s new Pop Up Parade figure. Be sure to share your own thoughts in the comments section!
Oshi No Ko is a manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It’s been airing as a TV anime series since spring 2023. The anime can only be watched on HIDIVE however. The story starts with a doctor and his patient who are reincarnated as an idol’s twins. Their mother Ai, hides the fact that she has kids as she continues her work as a star. But in an unexpected series of events, she ends up being murdered. Desperate to live up to their mother’s dreams, Aqua and Ruby take on the industry and attempt avenge their mother. Oshi No Ko seems cute at first, but it focuses on the corruption of the popular industry and expresses rather dark themes.
Aqua is the male protagonist; at his mother’s wish, he strives to become an actor. But his secret mission is that he’s searching for the culprit of his mother’s death.
Aqua looks quite cool as a Pop Up Parade. I like the chill pose.
He seems rather nonchalant the way they did him.
Ruby Hoshino’s figure goes good on desks.
The figure’s colors are vibrant, amd the shading and highlighting is done very nicely.
Her hairstyle looks cute from the back.
His Pop Up Parade looks cool from the back too.
Of course, Aqua is compatible with his sister, Ruby Hoshino’s Pop Up Parade as well!
I’m glad the Good Smile company chose to use their uniforms for all three of them, because they match each other. It would be awesome to have the collection of three.
Pop Up Parade Ruby Hoshino is set to release in the fourth quarter of 2024. You can purchase her from the Good Smile Online shop, or the Good Smile US store. The Crunchyroll store is also a great place to get these kinds of figures.
In conclusion to this review, I liked this figure a lot! The Pop Up Parade looks cool and calm, but it’s very likely that he’s actually just trapped in thought. I think it would be great to have both the Hoshino siblings. Honestly for a Pop Up Parade, Aqua is pretty detailed too.
