And thank you so much for tuning in; have fun reading!

Although many of us aren’t able to go to SmileFest 2024 ourselves, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy all the amazing news it brings. The Good Smile company has announced so many sensational figures these past few days; and I just had to write about them!

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has become a fan-favorite anime and manga series, both for its authentic characters and its dramatic plot. One of the most iconic scenes is when Frieren gets trapped inside a mimic, as it seems to be a bad habit of hers. Fans will be overjoyed to hear that the mimic will be receiving its very own nendoroid figure! In addition, Aura the Guillotine and Frieren’s Winter Version will also be getting figures. I’m very excited to talk about these, and share my thoughts with everyone! I think it’s worth mentioning that as of right now, we don’t much much information about these new figures. No release dates have been revealed, and they most likely won’t be going up for preorder for some time.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and drawn by Tsukasa Abe, which received its own anime adaptation in the autumn of 2023. The manga is published weekly in Shonen Sunday magazine. Despite being a fairly new story, Frieren is immensely popular both for its bright characters and dramatic plot line. The story follows Frieren, who comes back from a 10 year long adventure with Himmel the hero, Heiter the priest, and Eizen the warrior. Himmel’s party is celebrated for their triumph against the demon king. Although Himmel, Heiter, and Eizen speak of the adventure as though it was their last, Frieren can’t seem to understand them. After all, elves’ lifespans are much longer than most. And so, time goes by. Frieren eventually hears of Himmel’s passing, and decides that from here on out, she’ll strive to understand humans and appreciate her time with them. After she meets an orphan Heiter took in named Fern, and Eizen’s apprentice Stark, Frieren reembarks on the adventure that once ended.

The mimc, who constantly gobbles up Frieren during her adventures.

Frieren loves finding treasure, even if it sometimes means she’ll get eaten by mimics. In fact, Frieren is known to open chest that are clearly, clearly suspicious. This causes Fern quite some trouble, as she’s usually the one who has to pull Frieren out.

I’m actually quite surprised that the Good Smile company actually decided to feature the mimic as a nendoroid figure. I wonder if it’ll come with Frieren’s legs popping out, so that you can recreate the scenes where she struggles to get out of its mouth. This is definitely going to be a fun nendoroid, and I’m sure the mimic will be especially popular with fans of the series.

Frieren, the great mage who traveled with Himmel the hero.

It makes me happy that the Good Smile company is going to be putting out a Winter Version for Frieren. I personally think that although it probably isn’t totally necessary for us to be getting another Frieren nendoroid, it’s still nice that she’s getting a winter version. I hope that they go all out with her winter version, as I’d love to see some funny expressions for her. It would be hilarious to get her blowing a kiss like she did in the anime! I’d like to see some new effects for her magic as well.

Aura the Guillotine, one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, who once served the Demon King.

Aura’s screen time may have been quite limited, (Mostly due to Frieren) but that didn’t stop her from becoming one of the most iconic characters in the series. the fanbase has done an amazing job of keeping her relevant even though her time in the anime is over. It’s amazing to me how much fanart Aura gets, so it’s really thanks to her fanbase that she’s getting her own nendoroid figure. I think that Aura’s nendoroid will prove to be quite interesting. She has a pretty cool character design, and it’d be cool to see her spells recreated. I’m glad the Good Smile company realizes that we need to get enemy characters as well as the good guys. There are lots of series whose main characters get figures, but they are left with no one to fight. It’s very important to get these antagonists as well.

And with that, I’ve covered these three amazing, future nendoroid figures. Frieren is such a brilliant series, and I can’t wait to see even more of its characters get released as nendos. There are so many iconic character designs that I would like to have as figures…Who would you like to see as a nendoroid figure next? Please let me know in the comments section below! I also love to guess the faceplates, so please leave your thoughts on those too. I will definitely continue to cover all the awesome Frieren figures that come out.
