Nendoroid Suguru Geto: Tokyo Jujutsu High School Ver Review

Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! Today is July the 6th, which means Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will begin airing! While with the Satoru nendo post, I had not yet seen the first episode, I have before writing this one. I just have to say that the animation truly blew me away. It reminds me a bit of Chainsaw Man’s animation style. I love the overall approach Mappa took to the series. They added some extra scenes that weren’t in the manga; I can appreciate this so much. I loved seeing Geto and Gojo play basketball. And the moment where Utahime sneaks around the mansion was cool and suspenseful. I know that this anime will be a hit for years to come. As if the day wasn’t already good enough, this morning the Good Smile company added two new nendoroids to their website. Nendoroid Satoru Gojo: Tokyo Jujutsu High School Ver, and Nendoroid Suguru Geto: Tokyo Jujutsu High School Ver. Both are new versions of these characters for the hidden inventory ark! The hidden inventory ark is my favorite; so I’ll definitely be getting these two.

As someone who’s read the manga, it always warms my heart to be seeing all these new figures come out. I enjoy collecting merchandise from JJK and I enjoy talking about all of it on my website too.

In this post, let’s look at and review Nendoroid Suguru Geto: Tokyo Jujutsu High School Ver!

Jujutsu Kaisen “Sorcery Fight” is a massive hit manga and anime series by Gege Akutami. It has 2 seasons and a special movie for it’s prequel series, Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The story follows a boy named Itadori Yuji, who eats a mysterious finger belonging to the ancient curse Ryomen Sukuna. After eating it, it turns out he is the perfect vessel; and he must collect and eat all the other fingers before his execution. Jujutsu Kaisen focuses on a vast cast of students at the Jujutsu Technical high school. The story has some great characters, but in a dark world filled with curses and no mercy, it’s never good to get too attached.

Suguru Geto “夏油傑” is Satoru’s best friend and one of the strongest sorcerers. In hidden inventory, his values differ from himself in 0. The young Suguru wants to protect the weak. Over the course of the season, we’ll discover how some unfortunate events lead him down the wrong path.

Whoa, Suguru seems so much happier in his high school days! I love his joyful faceplate. If you notice, the front hair piece is the same, but his back hair piece is much shorter. They kept the green highlights in his hair too. But his Jujutsu high outfit is a nice blue color! The neat thing about this nendo is that you can combine him with the other Suguru nendoroid.

Aww, this face is adorable…Is he listening out for something? Suguru’s wearing black socks instead of white ones.

Suguru includes a bowl of Okinawa soba too! I love it when nendoroids come with food. Come to think of it, Zaru Soba is Suguru’s favorite food isn’t it? I think this is from the scene where Satoru and the others were eating nooodles in Okinawa. But realistically, he would be in his beach outifit. I hope that they release their beach clothes someday.

He comes with an extra pair of legs for his fighting stance! Many of the Jujutsu Kaisen nendoroids have similar parts. It will put him a little lower to the ground. Geto’s third faceplate is his winking combat face. My critique is that I wish at least one of the Suguru Geto nendos would include a curse. It could be a mini figure, or an acrylic backdrop.

Suguru has a cool cellphone case doesn’t he? I like the silver. When you think about it, talking on the phone moments could be fun and funny to recreate in nendoroid form. For hose who’ve seen the first episode already; do you remember when Suguru was on the phone with Satoru? It seems to me like the photo above is a recreation of when Satoru completely ignores Suguru’s advice and he’s exhausted with him.

His cellphone has a “call” icon on it. If you end up getting this figure, please be carful with the cellphone piece: it’s so easy to loose. We can get a glimpse at the difference in his hairstyle from the back. His hair was shorter in his high school days.

Honestly, I’m disappointed that Suguru only came with 3 faceplates while Satoru came with 4.

All the jujutsu Kaisen nendoroid's basses are clear with special designs for each character. This one shows off an icon of his head peeking out.

Combine Suguru with Nendoroid Nendoroid Satoru Gojo: Tokyo Jujutsu High School Ver to recreate more exciting moments!

[Do you need some Koregusu for that Soba?] He doesn’t say that in the manga or anything, I just came up with it.

Nendoroid Suguru Geto: Tokyo Jujutsu High School Ver will release in the first quarter of 2024. He is on preorder now on the Good Smile store and the Good Smile US store. Another good place to buy is Amiami.

In conclusion to this review, I did think that Suguru should have came with 4 faceplates since Satoru came with that many. But overall, I think this is a brilliant nendoroid and I would absolutely recommend getting him. I know I will. >~<

I loved the combination of expressions included with this figure. And since he’s compatible with the 4 faces I already have; I can already picture lots of good poses for him. (4 if you take the special TOHO animation store face into account.)

Suguru is being sold for about 37$, just a little cheaper than Gojo.
