Nendoroid Ryo Yamada Review

Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! I’m so glad you found my blog! I love to talk about upcoming anime figures and merchandise and share photos of my own collection. Nendoroids are my favorite, but I cover a wide variety of anime related subjects. Plus, I have a YouTube channel too, so feel free to check it out sometime! And thank you so much for tuning in; have fun reading!

Recently, I’ve been covering lots of Bocchi the Rock! figures here on my blog; and this time I’ll be reviewing Ryo Yamada’s new nendoroid. If you want to recreate the Kessoku band in nendoroid form, you won’t get far without their bassist! I really like the character designs in Bocchi the Rock!, and Ryo has a cool look to her, so I can’t wait to review her new nendoroid figure!

Aki Hamaji’s Bocchi the Rock! is a slice of life, comedy manga that began in 2017. It received an anime series in 2022, and the story has become immensely popular! Hitori Gotoh is a shy girl who struggles with social interactions, but that won’t stop her dream of becoming a rock star! One day, a girl named Nijika Ijichi invites Gotoh to join her new band. The story follows the Kessoku band, as Gotoh tries to make friends. The character’s last names share the last names of real musicians, with each fictional band sharing last names with members of a real one.

The Kessoku bands bassist, Ryo Yamada, might come off as cool and collected, but she actually enjoys mischief and wants to be called a weirdo. Ryo is Nijika’s best friend. She comes from a wealthy upbringing but prefers to spend her money instead of saving it. This is why Ryo stays constantly broke and has to ask others to pay for her. Ryo’s dream was to join a band so that her parents would believe she chose the wrong path in life.

Wow, Ryo looks so cool in nendoroid form! I love her bass; it’s so neat how the Bocchi the Rock! nendoroids come with their instruments. Her first faceplate is her standard, calm expression.

Ryo includes a microphone as well. The Good Smile company did a good job with the highlights in her hair.

Next is Ryo’s curious expression! She seems very puzzled here.

This pose is for when she’s asking someone to pay for her. I’m sure you could recreate some great scenes with this one.

Here’s a fun fact about Ryo Yamada: her favorite manga is Jujutsu Kaisen.

She even includes a branch and a faceplate for when she eats grass! This is cute, but I also feel kind of sorry for her…

The backdrop board shown here is not included with Ryo Yamada’s nendoroid. It comes with Nijika Ichiji’s nendoroid instead.

Nendoroid Ryo Yamada is set to release in the third quarter of 2024. She is currently up for preorder. I recommend getting her from the Good Smile Online shop, the Good Smile US store, Amiami, and the Crunchyroll store. Crunchyroll members will most likely want to preorder her from there so that they can get discounts.

In conclusion to this review, I thought that the Good Smile company did an amazing job on her! I love her instrument; and she comes with a good variety of expressions. Plus, it’s always nice when you get silly parts like her grass-eating faceplate.

Feel free to let me know your thoughts about Ryo Yamada’s new nendoroid in the comments section! Thank you so much for reading my article and see you next post!
