Nendoroid Himmel Review
Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! I’m so glad you found my blog! I love to talk about upcoming anime figures and merchandise and share photos of my own collection. Nendoroids are my favorite, but I cover a wide variety of anime related subjects. Plus, I have a YouTube channel too, so feel free to check it out sometime! And thank you so much for tuning in; have fun reading!
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End took its viewers on quite the journey. We laughed when our favorite characters relaxed, we cried when their hearts broke, and perhaps, most importantly, we stuck by their side to find out what happened next. With so much time passing, it’s easy to forget who actually started this amazing journey that Frieren embarked on. That person, of course, being none other than Himmel the hero.
The good news is, Himmel is receiving his very own figure from the Good Smile company! And I must say, his personality works brilliantly as a chibi figure. I can’t wait to review him!
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and drawn by Tsukasa Abe, which received its own anime adaptation in the autumn of 2023. The manga is published weekly in Shonen Sunday magazine. Despite being a fairly new story, Frieren is immensely popular both for its bright characters and dramatic plot line. The story follows Frieren, who comes back from a 10 year long adventure with Himmel the hero, Heiter the priest, and Eizen the warrior. Himmel’s party is celebrated for their triumph against the demon king. Although Himmel, Heiter, and Eizen speak of the adventure as though it was their last, Frieren can’t seem to understand them. After all, elves’ lifespans are much longer than most. And so, time goes by. Frieren eventually hears of Himmel’s passing, and decides that from here on out, she’ll strive to understand humans and appreciate her time with them. After she meets an orphan Heiter took in named Fern, and Eizen’s apprentice Stark, Frieren reembarks on the adventure that once ended.
Himmel the hero, who has now become something of legend.
This pose is so iconic for him, isn’t it? I think they did a great job with Himmel’s figure, he looks like he jumped out of the anime! His first faceplate is his usual, smiling one. His sword also looks neat. The sword in which Himmel wields is only a replica of the hero sword, but he still managed to defeat the Demon King with it.
I love that he comes with his cape! Himmel’s cape should be removable as well. It’d be neat to see lots of swordplay poses recreated in nendoroid form!
His swaggering expression is my absolute favorite! Just imagine all the silly moments you could create with it.
Himmel also includes a crown made from blue-moon weeds, which are his favorite flower.
Of course, Himmel is compatible with Frieren’s nendoroid. Wouldn’t it be heartwarming to take these two nendoroids on one last journey?
If you purchase Nendoroid Himmel from the Good Smile company, you will receive a bonus item, the mirrored lotus ring that he gifted to Frieren. Nendoroid Himmel is currently up for preorder, and he is set to release in the second quarter of 2025. You can purchase him from the Good Smile US store, or the Good Smile Online shop.
In conclusion to this review, I think it’s so awesome to see Himmel the hero as a chibi figure! I loved his cape and his sword, and the other accessories he includes. However, two of his smiling faceplates look almost identical. I personally find this rather disappointing. Himmel is a character with a big personality, and it just feels like they missed on opportunity with his faceplates. That being said, I’m very happy with his nendoroid, and I’m quite fond of his boastful face. I hope we get Eizen and Heiter as nendoroids eventually as well.
