BOCCHI THE ROCK! Desktop Cute Figure - Ryo Yamada (Room Wear Ver.) Review

Of course, everyone loves to see the members of Kessoku Band play their guitars, but isn’t it interesting to see their down time as well? Well Taito has brought us Room Wear Versions of the characters, the perfect figures to add to your collection if you’re looking for something cute and casual. Luckily for us, Ryo Yamada will be joining Desktop Cute Figure series!

Aki Hamaji’s Bocchi the Rock! is a slice of life, comedy manga that began in 2017. It received an anime series in 2022, and the story has become immensely popular! Hitori Gotoh is a shy girl who struggles with social interactions, but that won’t stop her dream of becoming a rock star! One day, a girl named Nijika Ijichi invites Gotoh to join her new band. The story follows the Kessoku band, as Gotoh tries to make friends. The character’s last names share the last names of real musicians, with each fictional band sharing last names with members of a real one.

The Kessoku band’s bassist, Ryo Yamada, might come off as cool and collected, but she actually enjoys mischief and wants to be called a weirdo. Ryo is Nijika’s best friend. She comes from a wealthy upbringing but prefers to spend her money instead of saving it. This is why Ryo stays constantly broke and has to ask others to pay for her. Ryo’s dream was to join a band so that her parents would believe she chose the wrong path in life.

To be honest, I’m getting less cute vibes from her, and more cool vibes instead. Her clothes look extremely detailed; they almost look real!

BOCCHI THE ROCK! Desktop Cute Figure - Ryo Yamada (Room Wear Ver.) is currently up for preorders, and she is set to release in the third quarter of 2025. She is 5.1 inches tall, and she’s manufactured by Taito. You can purchase her from the Good Smile US store.

In conclusion to this review, I really liked Ryo’s casual figure! I think they definitely did a good job converting her character into a desktop figurine, and she looks quite detailed! I’m honestly super amazed by the quality of these figures, especially for their price.
