3 Years of Making Halloween Costumes for my Nendoroids!

Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! I’m just your average blogger who’s obsessed and overly excited about nendoroids! Plus, I’m a bit of an anime enthusiast. Thank you for supporting me here on my blog! I have a YouTube channel too, so please check that out later as well. And thanks to everyone for checking out my website!

Around this time of year, I typically tend to show a lot of photos from the year before. I love looking at my old Halloween costumes each Fall season. But my favorite costumes are kept and reworn by a new nendo the next year. Some of the outfits are just too flimsy to be saved though. I hand make all these little costumes myself, and by no means are they perfected. It’s so fun to dress up all my nendos for the spooky season! If you have pictures of your nendoroids in Halloween scenes or even pictures of costumes you’ve made, feel free to send me a link in the comments. I’d like to eventually show others how I make these tiny outfits, but I’m waiting until I get better with sewing and I’m able to prefect the designs. But for now, I hope you can enjoy seeing the cool clothes for my nendos!

My first Halloween outfits were actually some of my best even though I was still figuring out how to make them. At the the time I didn’t own any Nendoroid Dolls. When I looked up how to make clothes for nendos, their were no guides on how to do it on the smaller bodies. So I kept the clothes themselves pretty simple. Most of them are ponchos and don’t have working sleeves. Although later on I did make witch costumes with arm holes.

In this post, I’m going to be showing everyone how the outfits change each year. And who wore what each season. With that, let’s get into it!

Alien

In 2021, Chuya was the first of my nendos to wear the alien outfit. I remember coming up with the idea to do an alien habit, and make his poncho a UFO. The details are just done with marker. In 2022, Sabito got the wear the outfit. With Sabito’s costume, I swapped the UFO poncho for tentacles. (Made from pipe cleaners.) However, in 2023, I chose to go with the UFO poncho again instead. This time Yuta gets to be an alien for Halloween! The alien costume has been one of my favorites throughout the years. And I also have a trick-or-treating bag that goes with it.

Mummy

I would recommend making the mummy outfit if you don’t have time to sew. In fact, I always throw it away each year because it’s literally just toilet paper! You can easily put toilet paper between their hair pieces, and you can also wrap it around them. I think the reason why I chose Dazai to be a mummy in 2021 is because with bandages over his eye, he resembles his port mafia look. I sometimes use a white pipe cleaner to kinda hold the bandages in place. It keeps the costume from coming undone. I wanted to make Armin’s mummy a little different, so I dotted little blood stains in his bandages. (If you decided to do a mummy costume and want to add blood stains, please remember to do that before you wrap your figure, as you wouldn’t want to stain it.) We actually had two mummies in 2022. Because Saber went as a mummy as a last minute costume. Yuji gets to be a mummy this year! Yuji’s divergent fist goes so well with the mummy costume, it looks wicked.

Spider

My spider outfit is one of my all time favorites! Megumi went as the original spider in 2021. He looks cute like that doesn’t he? I put him on top of the dollhouse too; like he was climbing everywhere. In 2022, I added the blue gem to the outfit. I thought it looked kinda plain being just solid black. Eren also looked great as a spider didn’t he? And this year, Yor wears this costume! I’ve already made lots of fun scenes with her this year.

Witch

The witch has always been—the hardest costume to make that also turned out wonderfully. I spent a lot more time with this costume than the others in 2021. While the rest of the nendos got ponchos, Saber got a shirt with arm holes and even a skirt. I believe the witch hats came from Dollar Tree. By the way, the hats don’t actually fit on my nendoroid’s heads. Instead, I just sit the hats on them when I take pictures. Although I only show Aoi here, I actually had 3 of my girls go as witches in 2022. Aoi, Nezuko, and Lena. I changed the skirts because Mikasa reused saber’s skirt for Mikasa’s banshee costume. In addition, all 3 witches got vests in different colors. I have three hats; a purple one, a green one, and an orange one. These witch hats came undone and had to be glued back together, but they hold together pretty good now! So far, Nadeshiko is the only one going as witch this year. But I might still do more witches. With the Halloween decorations, I always do cauldrons to go with these witches. I even made different brews for their cauldrons!

And those are the 4 main Halloween costumes that I reuse each year. If you want to share ideas for costumes, feel free! Which one of my nendos would you like to see wearing these costumes in 2024? Let me know and I’ll see about taking note for next year!
