‘Samenyan’ Cat Joins Our Nendoroid Family!

Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! I’m so glad you found my blog! I love to talk about upcoming anime figures and merchandise and share photos of my own collection. Nendoroids are my favorite, but I cover a wide variety of anime related subjects. Plus, I have a YouTube channel too, so feel free to check it out sometime! And thank you so much for tuning in; have fun reading!

I’m excited to be unboxing an adorable, cat-themed, Japanese collectible. I’ve always been a fan of those tiny figurines that you can get in many book stores. They always have cats doing odd things, but they are so cute in their own weird way! This time I picked up a blind pack featuring cats dressed as sharks!

So, we will be doing an unboxing and review. And then, I will introduce our new cat to my nendos.

The title of the figure is ‘Samenyan Mascot Figure’. This blind box can contains one of five different figurines.

The cat in a shark costume is very silly, isn’t it?

When I read the names of the sharks in Japanese, I learned a few new words! ‘Same’ (サメ) means shark, and ‘Nokogirizame’ (ノコギリザメ) means sawshark.

I hope I get the sawshark one, as it’s my favorite! >〜<

Actually, the whale shark cat is very cute as well. Which one is your personal favorite? Let me know in the comments!

By the way, in Japanese, ‘Shumokuzame’ (シュモクザメ) means hammerhead shark, while ‘Shachi’ (シャチ) means killer whale, and ‘Jinbeezame’ (ジンベエザメ) means whale shark.

And…I got the saw shark cat! I can’t believe I got the one I wanted on the first try! A lot of times with small figurines like this one, the quality won’t be as good as it is in the stock photos; but the quality and paint job look amazing with this one! It was also much bigger than I had expected it to be!

By the way, I got this from Books-A-Million. Now, let’s introduce our cat to its new family!
