Nendoroid Kikoru Shinomiya Review

Kaiju No. 8 is one of the best anime to be watching this season, so it’s only natural that it’d be receiving plenty of exciting anime figures. Of course, Kikoru Shinomiya is no exception; and she’s joining the nendoroid series! In this post, I’ll be reviewing Kikoru Shinomiya’s new nendoroid figure, and sharing my thoughts.

Kaiju No. 8 is a manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. It is serialized in Shonen Jump+, and is available to read on the Shonen Jump app. Despite being a fairly new story, it has become immensely popular. Kaiju No. 8’s anime began airing in April, 2024. The story follows a man named Kafka Hibino who works for the defense force, an organization that protects Japan from monstrous beings called Kaiju. However, instead of being on the front lines, Kafka works as part of the crew that deals with the aftermath of Kaiju attacks. One day, Kafka accidentally ate a strange parasite that transforms him into “Kaiju No. 8”. Will this give him the power to fulfill his promise to his childhood friend?

Kikoru Shinomiya is one of the main characters in Kaiju No. 8. She has a strong drive as a member of the Defense Force. Kikoru can be quite confident and even somewhat cocky. Kafka saved her, and so she’s grateful to him. She’s become quite the popular character.

Kikoru looks just like she does in the anime! Her axe is so cool to have in nendoroid form! Kikoru’s first faceplate is her smiling expression that’s bursting with confidence.

Shinomiya certainly comes ready for battle; because she includes her gun in addition to her axe.

Next up is her cheeky smile! This expression can be used to make all sorts of silly scenes. I must say, they did a good job with putting her ponytails into nendoroid form too.

Kikoru Shinomiya loves to show off, doesn’t she? Her winking faceplate is neat too.

Just like with the other Kaiju No. 8 nendoroids, Kikoru includes the gas mask. It’s amazing to see her nendoroid figure in these epic battle poses!

You can pair Nendoroid Kikoru Shinomiya with the other Kaiju No. 8 nendoroids, to recreate all sorts of exciting scenes! I love to see them displayed together!

The Defence Force gets ready for action in nendoroid form! It’s amazing to see these characters in chibi figure form.

I have a feeling these figures will be a lot of fun…

You can also buy nendoroids from Solaris Japan. Wherever you buy anime figures, be sure to make sure that they’re a trustworthy website.

In conclusion to this review, I thought the Good Smile company did an awesome job with Shinomiya’s nendoroid. However, I would have preferred that she came with a serious or devastated expression. I hope that the Good Smile company will add more faces for the Kaiju No. 8 characters someday.
