Nendoroid Frieren Review

Hello everyone! Arashi Bori here! I’m so glad you found my blog! I love to talk about upcoming anime figures and merchandise and share photos of my own collection. Nendoroids are my favorite, but I cover a wide variety of anime related subjects. Plus, I have a YouTube channel too, so feel free to check it out sometime! And thank you so much for tuning in; have fun reading!

This is my first blog post of the year, so I figured we should talk about one of the coolest new anime—and it’s new nendoroids, Frieren. Honestly, Frieren has become one of my absolute favorites! The concept is so interesting, and the story is just as amazing. I would certainly recommend giving it a try. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is definitely one of the best fantasy anime out there. Naturally, I was so happy when I heard two characters from Frieren would be getting their own nendos! The Good Smile company has converted both Frieren and Fern to their cute, chibi figure style.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and drawn by Tsukasa Abe, which received its own anime adaptation in the autumn of 2023. The manga is published weekly in Shonen Sunday magazine. Despite being a fairly new story, Frieren is immensely popular both for its bright characters and dramatic plot line. The story follows Frieren, who comes back from a 10 year long adventure with Himmel the hero, Heiter the priest, and Eizen the warrior. Himmel’s party is celebrated for their triumph against the demon king. Although Hemmel, Heiter, and Eizen speak of the adventure as though it was their last, Frieren can’t seem to understand them. After all, elves’ lifespans are much longer than most. And so, time goes by. Frieren eventually hears of Himmel’s passing, and decides that from here on out, she’ll strive to understand humans and appreciate her time with them. After she meets an orphan Heiter took in named Fern, and Eizen’s apprentice Stark, Frieren reembarks on the adventure that once ended.

Frieren, the great mage who traveled with Himmel the hero.

Wow, she resembles Frieren in the anime almost perfectly doesn’t she? She’s cute in this chibi style isn’t she? I love her staff, the colors details on it are awesome. And her hair also turned out quite nicely. The first faceplate we get to see is her normal, more serious look. You can tell she’s an experienced mage just by looking at her! Frieren’s nendoroid features her iconic clothes, earrings, and green eyes; just like in the anime! She looks amazing so far.

Frieren’s ponytails are movable, and so, you can create the effect that the wind’s blowing through her hair like in the picture here. She’s shown holding the same briefcase she has on the cover of the anime. You may remember the briefcase’s moments in the story; Frieren would pull all sorts of objects out of it. And when she wanted to show Fern her ring, it took her forever to find it among the items piled in her briefcase. So it’s truly a neat piece to have.

Here’s Frieren holding a grimoire! Her hobby is collecting spells, and she’s fond of collecting random ones which are handy for all sorts of situations. I love how her hand part points to the pages. It makes it seem as though she’s scanning over the text.

This expression is super cute isn’t it? (=w=7)

Frieren’s final faceplate is her smiling expression! Wow, this pose is awesome! Again, I love the staff. The Nendoroid base makes it easily to recreate her flying magic! The blue flowers that decorate her base are pretty, don’t you think?

This flower is a blue-moon weed, the kind that grown near Himmel’s hometown. Frieren and Fern discover a statue of Himmel the hero, and the lady maintains it says she’d like to plant some flowers around it. Frieren precedes to say that they should be Himmel’s favorite flower, the blue-moon weeds. But supposedly this particular flower has gone extinct in recent years. However, Frieren and Fern are able to locate them at the top of a tower.

You can also get Nendoroid Fern, she goes perfect with her mentor! These two are such a cute and silly duo. I love how Frieren never wants to get out of bed.

If you preorder her, you’l receive this pudding platter with the hand part as a Good Smile bonus! Nendoroid Frieren is available for preorder now on the Good Smile Oniline shop and the Good Smile US store. She will release in the fourth quarter of 2024. The price will most likely be cheaper if you preorder, so I would recommend getting this one from the GSC or another anime store you trust.

I’m so thrilled thinking about which Frieren character that could make next! I think we will get Stark for sure. But it’d be amazing to get Hemmel, Heiter, and Eisen. And let’s not forget about Sein! Him and Stark are so funny together. Let me know in the comments which Frieren characters you’re most excited about! I’m definitely going to cover all sorts of merchandise for this show in the coming days!

Thank you so very much for reading my blog! I hope to see you next post! >~<
