Nendoroid Doll Chinese-Style Panda Hot Pot: Star Anise Review

New Year’s is celebrated all across the world; with each country having it’s own traditions. But, I think we can all agree that of all the countries, China is the one marking our calendars for New Year’s. The Chinese New Year is the biggest of the New Year’s festivals. And with the Lunar New year coming up, it’s the perfect time for me to cover some adorable new nendoroids dolls, featuring traditional Chinese outfits! I must say that I am always impressed with the Chinese doll character’s clothes. This time I will be reviewing Nendoroid Doll Star Anise, a Good Smile original character! With that, let’s start our review!

Wow! Star Anise looks amazing! Red is a lucky color in China, and her red and gold dress looks stunning! I’m a huge fan of all the panda accessories, like her fan, and her shiitake chignon caps, and even the paw print on her dress! With her fiery eyes and hair, and her smug expression, Star Anise definitely seems like a tough and sassy girl.

This is her pouting pose. It could also be a demanding pose too. I really love her black, red, and gold color scheme, she stands out doesn’t she?

Here it looks like she’s trying to practice the martial arts, but in a playful way. Anise’s punching pose is cute…

I wish we could get the clothes separately too, because I would love for my nendos to wear this. All the clothes here should be compatible with most nendoroid dolls. And you can easily use any nendoroid as a doll, as long as you have a doll body. It’s fun to see what your favorite characters look like in a variety of outfits! Keep in mind that the display stand shown here is not included with the product.

In the picture above, Laurier and Star Anise are playing a game with the Jiangshi twins! These two are also orginal characters by the Good Smile Company.

In conclusion, I think that the Star Anise doll is pretty, and I would absolutely recommend getting her! Especially if you like pandas! I do wish that she included at least one food part though. It would make her hot pot theme better. I’m becoming a bit of a fan of the Chinese style nendoroid dolls, so I can’t wait to see what Good Smile Arts Shanghai will do next!
