Chibi Figure Kana Arima: The Genius Child Actor Who Licks Baking Soda Ver. Review

The genius child actor who licks baking soda has become an internet and meme sensation for fans of the popular anime series, Oshi No Ko. Lucky for us, Good Smile Arts Shanghai is giving us an adorable figure featuring everyone’s favorite child actress, Kana Arima! Kana is my favorite characters in the series, so I’m super excited to be reviewing her new figure.
Oshi No Ko is a manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It’s been airing as a TV anime series since spring 2023. The anime can only be watched on HIDIVE however. The story starts with a doctor and his patient who are reincarnated as an idol’s twins. Their mother Ai, hides the fact that she has kids as she continues her work as a star. But in an unexpected series of events, she ends up being murdered. Desperate to live up to their mother’s dreams, Aqua and Ruby take on the industry and attempt avenge their mother. Oshi No Ko seems cute at first, but it focuses on the corruption of the popular industry and expresses rather dark themes.
Kana Arima is one of the most popular characters in Oshi No Ko. Ruby sillily calls her “Loli Senpai” for no apparent reason. She ends up joining Ruby’s idol group; but she struggled a lot with her dreams. She’s inspired by a real actress, Mana Ashida. Similar to the child actress Mana Ashida, Kana ends up being used a lot by people.
I’m so happy they decided to turn this silly scene into a figure! She’s very cute, isn’t she? I love her white hat.
You can also remove her from her base. It would be fun to spread baking soda around for her to lick.
This figure was sculpted by Wuye, and she is about 2.16 inches tall.
The way she crawls is cute…I’m almost used to Kana being an adult now. The scene when Kana first meets Aqua in the first episode of Oshi No Ko is one of my favorites.

In conclusion to this review, I really enjoyed this figure! It makes me overjoyed when they turn everyone’s favorite scenes into figures. Also, I like that her base has baking soda on it. There are so many more unique Kana Arima figures that I want to write about…
